Cat On A Hot Tin Roof

Tennesse Willam’s Cat On a Hot Tin Roof was a fantastic production directed by Walter Paul in 2013. It takes place over a hot sultry summer’s day on a US southern state plantation in 1955. Brick has injured his leg through an indiscretion. His wife, The Cat, Maggie itches with intensity. It’s Big Daddy’s, Brick’s father, birthday and his family celebrate and crowd him. It’s claustrophobic in the intense heat as the relationships are put to the test as the truth seeps out.

In all this melodrama, one night Big Daddy throws Brick’s crutch down on the floor and the crutch falls on the rubber end and bounces through the fourth wall. Neil, playing Brick, had to hop through the rest of the play as the crutch lay outside the boundary of the set at the foot of the audience.
