The action is set in a US embassy, deep behind the iron curtain, in 1966. An American tourist, a caretaker by trade, with his wife and daughter claim refuge in the embassy, having mistakenly been accused of espionage by the communist police. Except it’s not much of a refuge. Ambassador Magee has left his son Axel in charge, a bungling diplomat who’s already been expelled from dozens of countries including the entire African continent. As frantic plans are made to escape, young Axel and the caterer’s daughter find themselves irresistibly drawn to one other…

Mark our Director has had a ball working on this Woody Allen farce. He’s given a couple of words of warning: gunshots and explosions will be heard in the performance, and although no one on stage dies, the company will not take responsibility for anyone in the audience who may laugh themselves to death!

Don’t Drink The Water runs at Eastwood Park Theatre in Giffnock from Wednesday 5th to Saturday 7th May 2016 at 7.30pm. In addition, there is a matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday.
