It’s the eighties so big hair. In a northwestern Louisiana town the Beauty Salon of Truvy Jones has a new recruit, the shy Annelle Dupoy. Shelby the daughter of M’Lynn Eatenton is getting married and her hair needs the magic of Truvy. Clairee Belcher, the widow of the former mayor is also at the salon as Shelby, who is diabetic falls into a hypoglycemic state. She recovers quickly with the help of the other women. Along with local curmudgeon Louisa “Ousier” Boudreaux these are the women who meet up to have their hair done and discuss the local gossip. Darren Hall directed this comedy in 2018.
