Peter and Debbie are enjoying a relaxing cruise – a break from their kids and busy London lives – when they strike up a holiday friendship with Elsa, an eccentric American passenger with an unfortunate fondness for Donald Trump and an unsettlingly enthusiastic approach to friendship.
After politely swapping details and promising to keep in touch, Peter and Debbie assume the friendship will end when the cruise does. But Elsa has other plans. Full steam ahead!
Months later, in the leafy London suburbs, Elsa – uninvited, unexpected and larger than life – turns up on their doorstep, ready to stay. Not wanting to be rude, Peter and Debbie welcome her in. But when they look her up online, they discover that their overly friendly, presumptuous and quirky houseguest might be something far more sinister… quite possibly a murderer. And that’s just plain #Awkward!
